Be inspired by this no-nonsense city. Learn how Rotterdam after the war has won back his beating heart. This did not happen by copying what once was, but by daring to dream. A good example is the Katendrecht district. Traditionally an area related to the port which was populated first by Chinese and later by pimps and their prostitutes. For a long time this area was a "no go area" and only associated with crime. With typical Rotterdam guts the new residents have created a liveable and safe environment of Katendrecht in cooperation with the local government. Jos can tell you everything about how this ultimately resulted in the neighborhood as it is today. He has planted his roots on Katendrecht and is proud of the resulting safe environment.
