Visit violin builder Gijsbert van Ziel

ROTTERDAM, OUDE NOORDEN

Gijsbert was trained as a violin maker at the Newark School of Violin Making in England (1988 -1991). During and after his studies he gained experience in studios in Berlin, Madrid and Montpellier. On his return to the Netherlands in 1995 he established as an independent violin maker. In recent years he has been in his studio in Rotterdam mainly engaged in the construction of instruments, particularly cellos, but also violins and violas. Over the years he has built up extensive experience with sound enhancement tools and he pays much attention to the adjustment of both new and antique instruments. He will tell you all about it and ask away!
